Collection


We accept; boxes, cases, holdalls, school trunks, musical instruments (in hard cases) and tvs/monitors

You are required to use the boxes supplied by storage4students if you use your own boxes you may be charged extra.

A minimum charge of £90 applies to any order ( £80 for Partner schools and local universities)

Suitcases can be up to 90cms tall. Suitcases under 60cms cost the same as a box
Holdalls / sports bags must be zipped close with no items protruding they cost the same as a suitcase, or the same as a box if less than 60cms long

Musical instruments: MUST be in a solid case or the original box. Instruments up to 100cms cost £70. For larger items please email for a price
TV’s/monitors: Need to be in there original box. Screen sizes of 40inches and above will count as 2 boxes
School trunks: A driver will only collect a school trunk where it is safe to do so. A school trunk costs £120 before discount
Bikes: Sorry we are unable to transport bikes

The collections from ‘local universities’ or ‘Partner schools’ are normally done by our own drivers. They will collect from your school house or university room where it is safe to do so. Where there is no lift or poor access or parking is restricted then we reserve the right to ask you to bring the boxes to the bottom of the stairs.
The maximum weight is 20 kgs per box and 25 kgs per suitcase
Where an item exceeds the maximum weight a charge of £1 per kilo will be added.
We reserve the right to refuse any package that is over weight or poorly packed.

All boxes/items must be secure and clearly marked with your name and the school/university name from which we are collecting.

Our boxes are only to be used for storage with storage4students.com. If boxes are ordered but not used, or our boxes are used for storage with someone else then a charge of £40 per student will apply.

If collection is to be made by our couriers we will inform you beforehand and ask you to take your boxes to reception. We will email you the address labels, you will need to print these and attached them to the boxes. We can not give a time of arrival for the courier so the boxes need to be available all day.

We will confirm a collection day with you. On the day we will text you an estimated collection time. This time is our best estimate but
due to the distance covered by our drivers he may not be on time.

We do not accept
We only accept our own boxes. We do not accept laundry bags, carrier bags or boxes other than those supplied by student storage.
Do not pack perishable, live or dangerous goods, including food and plants.
Delicate items including china, glass, musical instruments and electrical items need to be carefully wrapped. We handle all items with care but no guarantee or insurance is offered on these items.

You must not store illegal, flammable or hazadous items. If such items are found the authorities will be informed and the items disposed of. The cost of disposal will be charged to you and no compensation will be paid.

If any liquid leaks from a box you will be liable for any damage caused to your goods and any other boxes in storage. Do not pack part used bottles of oil, sauce or washing powder/liquids These will leak in transit!

Payment

Payment can be made by cash on the day of collection Or by bank transfer or credit card with in 7 days of collection.
Bank details will be on the receipt given to you when we collect your boxes.

Payment must be received AT LEAST 10 WORKING DAYS before delivery is required. If not received delivery will be delayed.

If your school is paying your storage fees then this needs to be received before we can deliver your boxes.

Insurance

Insurance is included upto £100 per box, case or other item. You are advised to check you own insurance for cover above this amount. Insurance cover is for damage or total loss, in no circumstances will cover exceed £100 per box or suitcase.

Any damage or loss must be notified to us by email within 3 working days of the delivery. Glass and china is not insured.

Delivery

We need at least 3 working days notice to arrange delivery. The delivery request must have a complete address including room number and a current UK mobile number. MOST halls of residence will not accept parcels on your behalf so do not request delivery before you are there to accept them. If you have a reception at your halls inform them that you are expecting a delivery. We will try to keep you updated on any delays. When requesting delivery please understand that we aim to please but we can not guarantee delivery on your requested day and we do not offer evening deliveries.  We may make deliveries at weekends but this is not available for all locations. Couriers will not deliver at weekends. You are advised to be prepared in case your boxes do not arrive the same day as you. Delivery is to the entrance of the building. We will carry your boxes to your room where we can, but this service is not available where there is limited parking (some London Halls of residences ) or too many stairs! Where we use couriers to make deliveries we can not give a time of arrival. We will inform you if a courier is to be used and on which day to expect delivery. They will need a signature but this can be from you, a flatmate or reception. If there is no one there to sign for the parcels  we may charge £30 for a repeat delivery. Delivery to a school will be on the first day of term unless otherwise requested. Delivery may be made by courier to reception in which case it is the student’s responsibility to arrange delivery to their room.

Storage4students is not liable for any costs or liabilities due to the late collection or delivery of the boxes and luggage, however caused.

It is the responsibility of the customer to contact storage4students to arrange delivery. If the boxes are still in storage at the end of the storage period (30th September for summer storage) then storage4students will charge an extra £6 per box, £8 per suitcase and £15 per school trunk per month or part of a month.

If you do not contact storage4students, or there are unpaid fees then after 3 months we have the right to dispose of the goods without paying compensation or damages.

Storage4students does not interfere with your goods but reserves the right to open any box or suitcase if it feels it is in the best interest of the customer or of storage4students. The reason may include, but is not limited to; leaks, strange smells or poor packaging.

If we need to repack any box or other item then there will be a cost of £20 per item
